Author Gilbert Burnett published the best account of life of Hale a biography which covers the entirety of Hale s young life through his judicial career and eventual death. Curiously, Burnet gives special attention to Hale s sympathy toward dissenters, which was particularly interesting considering the climate at the height of the English Civil War.
