Portrayal of life and work of 25 outstanding Jewish men (Wundermänner / Baal-Schem) who have emerged from the middle of the 11th century to date, including Benjamin ben Serach, Adam Baal-Schem, Joel (I) ben Isak Heilpern, Simon Wolf, Josef Baal-Schem, Israel Friedfertig, and others. Most of the portrayals had been published in the periodical "Freie jüdische Lehrerstimme" in 1919, and appear here in an edited and expanded version. Includes essay on the history of the older Kabbalah and appendices at rear. Text in German. Wraps with wear along edges and spine, small chips, light creasing and staining of front cover.
