This is a UK first edition hardcover, published by William Darton in 1823. The photos show the condition better than I can describe, however overall I am grading as Good condition for its age, The book has a straight spine and scuffed corners and spine ends. the foot of the spine has a small section missing, which is about 1cm tall by the same wide. The interior of the book sees the front end paper split along the seam but the boards are still firmly attached to the book. The pages are grubby throughout and I've put photos up of an example so you know what to expect. The text, however, is clear and legible. Interestingly the publisher has glued a notice to this effect to the inside board, which apologises to the public that the paper has become stained in every copy of the book but to compensate for this they have reduced the price from 4s to 2s 6d. So it looks like IF you are fortunate to find another copy of this title, it'll be in the same condition. The book has 192 pages excluding index and a full page advert promoting the publisher. There is no publication date on the title page but research confirms this edition to be published in 1823. Seller Inventory # 015686
