About this Item
Hardcover first edition, first printing and First Thus edition. First published by Hadley Publishing Company in 1947. This edition published in 1952 features revised text from the 1947 Hadley edition. Not a book club, remainder or ex-library copy. Light green boards with black lettering on spine. Near fine copy in very good jacket. Light, age-related dust soiling to top edge of page block. Bottom edge of spine lightly scuffed. Jacket spine panel is sunned, but complete without tears and with original $2.75 price intact, which is rare as often jackets are price-clipped. Boards straight and square, pages clean and bright. A nice, bright copy. Originally published as a magazine serial in 1943, later published in hardcover by Hadley Publishing in 1947. Re-published by Corwin Greenburg in 1952 as a "fix-up" with revised text fixing numerous errors in the previous Hadley edition. (A. E. van Vogt coined the term "fix-up" in his 1975 autobiography "Reflections of A. E. van Vogt" referring to his previously published stories altered to fit together by adding new cementing material.). Seller Inventory # 004345
