About this Item
** RARE ** TRUE 1ST EDITION, 1928 ** FAIR CONDITION ** CLOTH-BOUND HARDCOVER ** NO DUSTJACKET ** FORMER LIBRARY BOOK ** CLEAN AND STAIN-FREE ** TEXT UNMARKED ** ILLUSTRATED ** Published in Chicago by the Violin Literature Publishing Co., 1928, 1st Edition, with 655 total pages, many illustration portrait plates of famous composers and violinists on glossy paper. This book is rarely seen anymore, in any condition. Book bound in heavy-duty blue cloth-covered boards, embossed gilt lettering on the front, gilt lettering on the spine now gone. Book remains complete and intact, but has seen some considerable use. At some point, the spine was reinforced with clear archival tape to prevent any further deterioration at the hinges. The webbing is exposed at the interior hinges front and rear, but the book nevertheless remains fairly firm in its binding, hinges are still holding, no pages are loose, missing, or torn. Cloth to the spine is rubbed, worn, and torn, with the cloth gone from top quarter inch of the spine. The cloth on the boards shows surprisingly little wear both front and rear, gilt lettering on front is still fairly bright. Corners have not been bumped. The book remains quite clean and free of any stains, and the pages are likewise clean and stain-free. Pages are softly, faintly age-toned, but all text is crisp and legible. Aside from library markings, there is no writing, underlining, highlighting, or any other such markings in the book. Buy with confidence.
