About this Item
Boards. Spine very slightly darkened. "Most of the poems in this little volume," writes Theo Turner (Theodore Turner QC), "were collected by the late Toby Pilcher [Sir Gonne Pilcher MC], the 'Toby' of 'Presidential Reprieve', whose elevation to the Bench was there celebrated. Cyril, Toby and I served together for part of World War II in an organisation thinly veiled under the mysteries of the Official Secrets Act and it was there that the war poems were composed . . ." Cyril Harvey QC (1900-1968) was involved in, amongst other wartime escapades, Operation Zigzag; the war poems form the most interesting section of this volume. Seller Inventory # 2EV100094
