About this Item
Contemporary calf. 18mo. 4 by 6 inches. An imperfect copy lacking pages 99 to 106 and pages 111-118 in the "Letter From a Gentleman to his Friend" section at the end of the book. John Cosens Ogden was a 1770 Princeton graduate who relocated to Connecticut where he was ordained an Episcopal priest. In the 1790s he traveled and preached through northern New England and parts of Canada. A good copy with some rubbing and wear to the covers and some chipping to the upper spine. The text is good with some scattered foxing and spotting. There is some early ink writing to the front and rear flyleaves. The title page has an ink name at the top and the faded evidence of a library stamp at the bottom. Seller Inventory # 11497
