True first British printing with original unclipped jacket (8'6). Illustrated by Ronald Searle. Jacket has faults - namely edge/shelf wear, a few small (approx. 1cm) tears, a little patchy loss (mainly to head/tail of spine and to corners), creasing/rubbing to edges, pushing/rubbing to head/tail of spine, a few marks, a few small scratches, minor foxing, patchy browning (including to spine), pushing/bumping to corners, mild foxing/browning/few small marks to reverse (white side), minor foxing/creasing/browning to front/back inner flaps and is in only fair condition. Boards are very good (having been well protected by the jacket) with minor pushing/bumping to corners, the odd small bump/rub to edges and minor pushing/rubbing to head/tail of spine. Little spine lean. Pages are generally clean and the binding is tight. Previous owner's name in pen to front end-paper. Pages little tanned. Odd small mark/spots of foxing to page edges, tops and bottoms. Odd small mark/minor foxing to inside boards/end-papers. Odd small crease to a couple of pages.
