Quartos, Five Volumes. In Very Good minus condition. Re-backed and uniformly bound in contemporary full polished calf, with gilt emblems to boards, black leather spine labels, and gilt lettering. Boards show loss of leather and some red rot to spines, not impacting the gilt lettering. Light bumping to corners, and some minor scratching to the boards. Text block has minor age toning throughout. Lacking two plates [One sheet of Hieroglyphics in volume 1, one plate of "Binny" from Volume 5]. All three folding maps intact, with some light tearing along the creases. Three leaves of battle plans intact [Vol IV], and four leaves of Ethiopian text [Vol I]. CONTENTS: Vol. I. ([x], lxxxii, 535) -- Vol. II. ([ii], viii, 718) -- Vol. III. ([ii], viii, 759) -- Vol. IV. ([ii], viii, 695) -- Vol. V. ([ii], xiv, 230, [xii], [3 folding maps]). JR consignment.
