About this Item
This is a UK first edition hardcover published by F. Pitman & W. Tweedie in 1876. The photos show the condition better than I can describe, however overall I am grading the book as Good condition for its age. The book has a straight spine with firm corners and lightly softened spine ends. The interior sees the seam joining the end papers to the boards is split front and back but the spine and boards are still affixed to the text block. The page edges are toned, but the interior text and end papers are clean albeit off-white due to age. The title page confirms the publication in 1876, which research confirms is the first edition. Store Description
All books in my store are my own and in my possession. I expect customers to read my listings fully and look at all photos and be aware of the terms. I will work with everyone to resolve issues but I expect the same courtesy back - if I don't reply to an email within 24 hours it means I haven't received it so you'll need to resend.
I charge shipping that reflects my actual costs. I do NOT offer cheap shipping and add it to the book price so please do not complain to me that Bob down the road offers cheaper postage. Sure he does - but the price of his book is hiked to reclaim it, or you're referring to a power seller who can negotiate postage discounts. I can't - I'm a private individual selling my private collection. ABE only allows me to set one postage rate so I charge the rate for hardbacks sent in a box with bubble wrap and polystyrene peanuts. Where postage is less - eg a paperback or small hardback - I refund the difference once I get my receipts and know the exact cost. Tracking is NOT provided automatically on UK parcels - you have to choose priority mail AND pay an additional £7 postage on top.
