Unlike the language of urban areas, these dialects remained free of English loan words and employ words that are rarely used in urban speech - thus they represent what the author refers to as "true Malay". Part I provides a list of the terms found in this vernacular language and details their usage and meaning. Part II includes example dialogues as these terms would be used in three main areas of rural Malaysia - Perak, Kelantan and Trengganu.
