Demy 4to, sepia tinted aquatint folding frontispiece, xiv, [ii], 530, [ii] p. Sixteen sepia tinted aquatints, five folding plus an engraved Map of Killarney. Twentieth Century black quarter morocco, five raised bands, gilt lettered, blue paper covered boards, large paper copy, 288 x 218 mm, untrimmed. Light faint spotting to the endpapers otherwise a near fine clean copy with excellent sepia tinted aquatints and the Armorial bookplate of John Towneley on the front pastedown also the small ticket of bookseller H. P. Kraus. The majority of the tissue guards are present. First edition. Large paper copies of Carr are scarce and very desirable. Towneley was an English Whig politician who was Member of Parliament for Beverley from 1841 to 1852.
