1st edition hardcover in grey cloth boards, spine ends bumped, tips of boards lightly brushed. True first edition with Scribner's A on foot of title page. 32 pp sewn in text is tight and bright, unclipped original dust wrapper shows small chips at tips, larger chips at spine ends and a 1.5" closed tear near rear gutter but displays well in new mylar. Delightful tale of a little elephant who just couldn't remember what his mother told him, until when chased by an angry lion, he learns some things for himself. Seller Inventory # 31622
