First Edition in the excellent and unclipped dust-jacket by Victor Reinganum. Original black cloth boards, unmarked. No internal markings or old sigs. Just a hairline chip to the tail of the spine and light wear to points of corners on the jacket. A A Fine copy in the near Fine d-j. Cricket novel which takes place during a Test match in Australia where England require 473 runs in eight hours to win in the final innings. Reinganum (1907-95)was associated with the Surrealist school, mainly producing art for book dust-jackets, including the first editions of Muriel Spark's 'The Ballad of Peckham Rye' (1960) and 'The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie' (1961).
