Crimson cloth boards with white blocked titles to spine, 225 x 150 mm approx. Top edge stained red ,maps to end papers, x + 278 pp. 26 b/w photos on 16 plates as called for. First Edition 1939. Account of the author's horseback ride in central Europe at the time of German territorial expansion which led to WWII. The book culminates in the Battle of Munkacs hence the title.
