About this Item

This is the 1st US Edition. Burgundy coloured cloth boards with silver and black ililustrated wrap-around band which has the titles on the spine. The title page is dated in Roman Numerals 1938 (MCMXXXVIII). There is no First Edition statement on the copyright page. No additional printings listed with a "CL" designation above copyright 1938. The boards show light to moderate wear, the spine lightly faded, the wrap-around band is separate on both sides of the spine (see photos), a previous owner inscription dated 1938 on fep, the binding solid but slightly loose. A tiny booksellers label (from Ottawa) on the back board along the gutter. Otherwise a Very Good copy. Somewhat Scarce in the first edition. Robust shipping. Seller Inventory # 007917
