Paper covered pictorial boards in an identically designed dust-jacket. Overall the covers are excellent but a little slight rubbing to the head/tail and corners. The dust-jacket is a bit grubby, a light stain to the front cover which slightly shows on the front cover of the book. There are also some edge chips/tears with loss, and some rubbing to the edges. The d/j is not price-clipped, price of 3/- still showing. Some neat repairs to the reverse of the jacket, a little colouring to match/improve, and the d/j is now in a new protective clear - removable - bookfilm plastic cover and looks near VG. Internally NO Inscriptions or Marks. 45 pp. 32 lovely colour plates, 4 to a page, of various dog breeds by B. Butler, specially for children, with (anagram type) 'puzzles' to solve - Solutions at the end. The Late Author - Clifford ('Doggie') Hubbard, Welsh born author and bookseller, was an acknowledged expert on antiquarian and other dog books. His own writings consisted of books on various canine subjects, including the earliest editions of The Observer's Book of Dogs, and articles for journals such as Dog World, Our Dogs and the Kennel Gazette, etc, etc. Generally a Near VG example of the First Edition.
