About this Item
Small octavo. XII + 434pp. Original full calf with gold lettering on title-label. Gilt decoration on boards and spine. Fascinating work in which the author attempted to explain the approach to mythology that had guided his earlier studies. He rejected those theories that emphasized the role of either poets or priests in the creation or transmission of myth. Heavy abrasions on binding with front board detached, but present. Spine rubbed, chipped and partly missing on edges. Corners bumped and rubbed. Text in German. Overall, binding in poor, interior in very good to near fine condition. Seller Inventory # 23380
