Contents Fair, some dirt, a few with marks, detached pages, a bit of edge loss to a few pages, Many of the small illustrations within the text/illustrated pages have been hand coloured, inside inscribed To dear Winnie from Papa, Nov. 15 1899 . As for the 6 full-page chromolithographic pages with moving parts, 3 are working, all in need of restoring. 1st working, pull not fixed to stick out below page/book. 2nd working, pull not fixed to stick out below page/book 3rd 2 figures move, one not connected/moving. pull not fixed to stick out below page/book and small base bit missing. 4th not working, loss of hand, tear to sawing box, top of box detached inside, missing Pull. 5th Working, pull not fixed to stick out below the page/book. 6th not working, one connection piece inside in 2 parts, pull not fixed to stick out below page/book. First movable page side edge needs re-gluing (no loss, but makes it easy to see the workings). Lothar Meggendorfer is considered one of, or the finest movable toy-book artist. Undated as usual, but gift inscribed 1899, published around that time, Institutions usually date it as c1900, or c1902.
