Half leather with marbled paper boards. Moderate wear to extremities, rubbing to boards. Small clipping attatched to front pastedown. First tissue guard creased. Foxing and soiling. Pencil notes. In 1827 Kinsey made a tour of Portugal with the intention of making the country better known to English people. From his journals and a series of letters written to his friend Thomas Haynes Bayly, as well as from historical and other sources, Kinsey published this book. His interesting account is well-illustrated with engravings by G. Cooke and Skelton from drawings mainly made by a companion during the tour.
