TWO VOLUMES UNIFORMLY BOUND IN FULL SHEEPSKIN. Corners and edges worn. Both covers loosened but still attached to Volume 1. Red and black spine labels. Small chip missing top of black label on Volume 2. (See photos please). Marbled edges and matching endpapers. Frontispiece portraits of author in each volume, with tissue-guards. Collated complete for plates and maps. The folding maps are nearly pristine, likely never opened! Both volumes crisp and clean through text. 500,486pp. Philip Henry Sheridan (1831-1888) was an career officer in the US Army, a graduate of West Point, and a Union general during the American Civil War.
