A profusely illustrated guide to Britain and Ireland by rail, showing the reader the beautiful sights of the islands. Several views captured from the train are in the volume too. A guide for tourists: there are advertisements for passenger rail and shiplines, hotels, travel products, and more. Famous tourist spots in the guide include Blarney Castle, Cork, the Cliffs of Moher, Windsor Castle, Stratford-upon-Avon, and smaller less touristy destinations like Londonderry, Liverpool, Manchester, etc. An illuminating late ninteenth-century travel guide. Good only, neatly rebacked with discoloration to the corners of the front and rear boards; two fold-out maps are missing from this volume, and there are a few discreet annotations to the preliminaries.
