749 pages and a single advert leaf at the rear, a half title present, 2 engraved plates of a Sub-soil Plough and a Clover-Head Gathering Machine, half calf, worn with watermarks on back board, original morocco label, pages age browned or lightly toned mostly, one or two age spots, contents firm and no loose pages or leather splits. Octavo. 1840. *A scarce book of the pre-mechanised farming developments in the 1830's. I suspect the private printing stopped it selling a lot of copies and why few copies come up for sale. We very rarely use "fine" or "mint" as a description, mainly due to the age and the fact that 99.9% of what we sell has been pre-owned and therefor Fine would not be a term for a book we sell despite its fine-like appearance. We always take items back unreservedly if not in the condition as described. We always try to describe fully.
