Add to basketFirst edition. A love story - that of the Marquis for his young wife who died in childbirth in New Zealand, between father and daughter- and the daughter's doomed love for a young American naval officer - told in both brief prose segments and lyrics interspersed in the first section. The second section consists entirely of lyric poems. Frontispiece portrait of the author with a tissue guard. 160 pp. Good overall in dark green cloth with gold decorations and lettering - lettering on spine rubbed and illegible, some foxing mostly to the endpapers and the last few leaves, but overall a tight and sturdy copy of a rather uncommon book.
