Canon Joseph Guinan (1863-1932) born in Co. Offaly, was a popular author of rather romanticised but subtly political stories of tenant farmers in the midlands of Ireland. Bright blue cloth with gilt decoration. Corners rubbed and small tear to spine. Page edges foxed and prize label on front free endpaper but contents generally in very good condition.
