Mission to Tashkent, F.M.Bailey, Jonathan Cape, 1946, First Edition, First Impression An excellent copy of a remarkable story. Bailey led a mission to Tashkent to support Russia's war against the Central Powers. The book tells the story of his arrest, escape and of a further mission in disguise where he was charged with the task of searching for himself. Given the conformity with book production to war time economy standards this is in fabulous condition. The binding is tight and straight, the boards clean and bright including the gilt lettering to front cover and spine. The endpapers and pages are clean and unmarked without tears or inscriptions with red tint to the top edge retained and no foxing. The clipped dust jacket is in very good condition, brightly coloured with nibbling to the top and bottom of the spine and some darkening to the cream coloured areas. Rare in such excellent condition. Will be dispatched promptly, fully insured and very carefully packaged in bubblewrap and a cardboard box. Seller Inventory # 03700
