Thick 8vo. Uniformly bound in orig. full mottled calf with gilt spines (edges rubbed; spines of Vols. 2 & 3 slightly split). With numbered tables of which 8 are folding + 3 folding facsimile letters bound in and 1 folding General Order of Encampment. The pages of all three volumes are age-toned & lightly foxed; there is some worm-holing to several pages in Vols. 1 & 3; and the hinges of Vol. 3 have been strengthened. Text is complete. Wilkinson (1757-1825) was a soldier and adventurer in the American Revolution. He was a controversial figure who found himself in front of several Courts-Martial, on one occasion accused of conspiring with the Spanish to set up an independent nation in the West.
