About this Item
The First UK printing published by T. Fisher Unwin, London in 1926. The BOOK is in Very Good condition with some pushing at the spine ends. The black titling remains bright. Light mottling to the cover edges in places and some slight rubbed spots and age related markings. Light toning and dustiness to the text-block. Internally slight spotting to the prelims. Small previous owner's initials stamp to the upper front end-paper. The WRAPPER si complete and is in Very Good- condition. Edge-wear to the upper edges with a little loss at the upper spine tip. Closed tears to the spine have been reinforced with tape to the verso. Small tape reinforcement to the verso of the upper rear spine fold. The price on the spine has faded but is still legible. The striking front panel artwork by E. Lucchesi presents very well in the removable Brodart archival cover. 'In this collection of stories, however, he has taken the War for a background a series of tales told to him by 'Tommies' and others. He writes of course, from his own personal experience on the Western Front.' (Front flap blurb). Scarce with the wrapper. More images available on request. Ashton Rare Books welcomes direct contact.
