He is best known for his accounts, often imbued with firsthand information, of the French aristocracy.Maria Amalia of Naples and Sicily [1782-1866] became Queen of France when her husband Louis-Philippe, Duke of Orleans acceded to the French throne following the July Revolution of 1830.
