About this Item
8vo. 243pp. Original decorative brown cloth-backed boards. Published in 1954, Lord of the Flies was Golding's first novel. The content discusses how culture created by man fails, using as an example British schoolboys stuck on a deserted island who try to govern themselves with disastrous results. In 2005 this powerful work was chosen by Time magazine as one of the one hundred best English-language novels from 1923 to present. Head and tail of spine bumped with tiny closed tears. Rubbing on corners, boards slightly sunned. Tight copy with binding in good, interior in very good condition. Seller Inventory # 24001
