The first edition of this biography of the Irish Chieftain, born about 1561 who died in 1640 having spent most of his life struggling with the politics of the English court in its dealings with Ireland. Very good in original blue cloth with gilt title to spine and depiction of gilt seal to top board. Rebacked with new endpapers and with signature of Martha Thomasina Mccarthy, dated 1870, to the dedication leaf. Seller Inventory # 001473
