Add to basketBand 1 is 2. edition 1869, band 2 (1862) +3 (1865) are 1'st editions. In full cloth binding. Band 1 xxlv+582 pp. Band 2 548 pp. Band 3 clxxx+554 pp. Band 1 has a broken cloth binding along the spine but are still hold together in a solid way. It has a stamp of former owner at title page. first pages until 132 have marks of moist traces at upper right corner. It has notes in pencil (and not pen). Notes are written at first and last pages in pen (not pencil). Only few pages have traces of foxing. Band 2 has a very good binding with only very light wear. Very few notes and underligning in red pen also notes but mostly underligning in normal pencil which can be wiped out. It has extremely little foxing. Band 3 has a very good binding with only light wear. Not many notes and underligning only few in the same light red pen and few by pencil, a good and rather clean copy. Total weight is 1490g. which add a little extra to the shipping prices normally quoted by abebooks. Julius Wellhausen considers his lengthy three-volumes biography to be of great importance. In his work " Muhammed in Medina", p. 24/26, he writes: [ Translation of quote] " For the discerning Arabist, Sprenger¿s work is a rich trove of material and ideas; .and further ".Sprenger¿s healthy and lively feelings for things comes through refreshingly in his work and the content of his record". The Qur¿an itself ( almost two-thirds of it are contained in the work in his own translation), several documents, the Oriental and European biographies, the Sunna and the genealogical traditions provide the rich material basis which assissted Sprenger in compiling his work. He attributes the emergence of Islam to the influence of Zeitgeist. According to the author, the religion did [ Translated quote] " not develop from the blood, nor from the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man". [ Enay" Mohammed and the Holy Qur¿an", 68 for the first edition]. Size: 8vo. Pictures are send on demand - no problem.

You may use the attached model cancellation form, but it is not obligatory. You can also electronically fill in and submit a clear statement on our website, under "My Purchases" in "My Account". If you use this option, we will communicate to you an acknowledgement of receipt of such a cancellation on a durable medium (e.g. by e-mail) without delay.
To meet the cancellation deadline, it is sufficient for you to send your communication concerning your exercise of the right to cancel before the cancellation period has expired.
Effects of cancellation
If you cancel this contract, we will reimburse to you all payments received from you, including the costs of delivery (except for the supplementary costs arising if you chose a type of delivery other than the least expensive type of standard delivery offered by us).
We may make a deduction from the reimbursement for loss in value of any goods supplied, if the loss is the result of unnecessary handling by you.
We will make the reimbursement without undue delay, and not later than 14 days after the day on which we are informed about your decision to cancel with contract.
We will make the reimbursement using the same means of payment as you used for the initial transaction, unless you have expressly agreed otherwise; in any event, you will not incur any fees as a result of such reimbursement.
We may withhold reimbursement until we have received the goods back or you have supplied evidence of having sent back the goods, whichever is the earliest.
You shall send back the goods or hand them over to us or The Slavic Collection, Høsterkøbvej 44, 2970, Hørholm, Denmark, +45 41564727, without undue delay and in any event not later than 14 days from the day on which you communicate your cancellation from this contract to us. The deadline is met if you send back the goods before the period of 14 days has expired. You will have to bear the direct cost of returning the goods. You are only liable for any diminished value of the goods resulting from the handling other than what is necessary to establish the nature, characteristics and functioning of the goods.
