This hardcover book, published in 1881, is a First Edition. It is in Very Good condition. The exterior is faded almost to an orange. The gilt on the covers and at all ends of the pages is strong. There is light rubbing along the edges. The spine is strong and the pages are clean. I found no markings, no tears, and no wear inside. There are some small photos of a few of the First Ladies, but I do not know if those are original to the book. There is no dust jacket. The book comes from a smoke free home.
