THE FAMILY LIBRARY No LXV, 65. xiv, 486pp, engraved frontispiece portrait with tissue guard, original printed cloth, slight foxing to cover and frontispiece/tissue, otherwise a very good clean copy. From 1829 to 1835 John Murray published many of its titles in The Family Library. From 1835 to 1841 the publisher Thomas Tegg took over the series. In all, some 80 titles were issued in this series, which were all in the same format and binding. Only on the outside covers is there mention that the book is part of The Family Library, which are all in a uniform binding and of the same size. Size: 6.25 x 4 Inches.

The Old Hall Bookshop was established in 1977 by John and Lady Juliet Townsend. The Old Hall is a very fine 18th century house in the centre of Brackley, a pleasant market town about 18 miles north of Oxford. The shop has a large stock of antiquarian, secondhand, new books and maps covering a wide range of interests and prices. We welcome visitors and trade customers. Parking is easy in the Market Square. Disabled access available. Opening hours: We are open every day except Sunday and Bank holidays, from 10am to 5:30pm. We attend a number of Book Fairs each year.
