1st edition hardcover in light blue cloth with brown horse on cover and brown spine titles. Professionally reproduced clipped dj shows beautifully. 124 tight pages with crisp text has some age discoloration on front & rear paste down and pages are lightly yellowed. The story of Amathea's life from the time she was foaled to the birth of her first colt without romanticizing either men or animals. In a fine, clean prose, it paints a vivid, realistic picture of life as it really is on a great Australian stock ranch - hard, exciting, sometimes cruel, but with a sweep and a horizon unlimited.
