First edition, first printing 1895 hardcover in taupe buckram covered boards illustrated with black and russet colored horses including a toy horse on wheels and a ring of seahorses around an oval design on cover. Book is not an exlib. Tips and spine ends bumped and rubbed but not unsightly. Former owner's small address stamp on upper tip of fep, vintage bookstore sticker at foot of rep. Hinges good, pages tight with only an occasional light fingerprint. 418 pp illustrated with art reproductions and etchings in black and white. A fantasy involving horses in different settings throughout the ages, both real and mythical. Seller Inventory # 47154
