Bound in later morocco with elaborate stamping, six raised bands on spine, former owner's name in gilt on front board, gilt decorated turn-ins, marbled endpapers, all edges gilt. Good, about a quarter of the title page torn off and missing, stain to back board, dampstaining to early pages of text, some light reading wear and stray pencil marks to text. The uncommon first American appearance of Emanuel Swedenborg's translation of The Bible. According to OCLC only four institutional copies present; also "the books of Ruth, Chronicles, Ezra, Nehemiah, Esther, Job, Proverbs, Ecclesiastes, Song of Solomon, the Acts of the Apostles, and the Epistles omitted.".
