Cities, railroads, stage roads, villages, canals, and township lines are depicted in the midwestern region of the United States on this detailed map. The first history of Illinois to be published. The book presents beautifully, and is without the wear to the cloth and hinges so often seen with this title. Two discreet library markings (one blindstamp from the Dixby Memorial Library of Vermont on the map and one ink number on the copyright page) and some evidence of card pocket removal with a bookplate on the front pastedown.
