Imperial quarto. Bound in full smooth calf, with gilt borders on both boards. New spine laid down in excellent fashion and execution. Marbled endpapers. Pages immaculately clean. There is no foxing whatsoever in text pages. Some of the engraved plates have some foxing on the borders. This is an extra illustrated edition. By my count there are 49 illustrated pages - three maps - one folding; six color plates, including the frontis of the author; and forty plates, most of which are copper engravings. 402 pages plus and appendix of 123 pages.
