Large quarto. [34], 874, [65] (vol.1); [12], 782, [8], 87 (vol.2). Full calfs with gold lettering on red leather title-labels and black leather volume-number-labels. Gold decoration on spine. Only front board in vol. 2 attached, other three boards detached but present. All red page edges. Marbled endpapers. Engraved title-page in first volume, with red and black lettering. Title-page with vignette in second volume, with red and black lettering. Engraved decorative initials, head- and tailpieces. Fascinating and scarce work on the history of the French province of Dauphinà . Histoire Gà nà alogique de la Maison de Sassenage, Branche des anciens Comtes de Lyon et de Forests, bound in at the end of second volume. Some rubbing and abrasion on bindings, with calf partly chipped on boards and spines edges. Corners rubbed. Gold decoration on spine somewhat faded. Some damp staining on margin of few pages in volume 1, with slight age-toning. Title-page and first page of first volume are chipped on bottom right, with some loss of text and image, but professionally repaired. Previous owner's signature on title page of first volume. Previous owner's name on fly leaf of second volume. Text in French. Bindings in poor, interior of first volume in very good, interior of second volume in near fine condition. Seller Inventory # 23496
