About this Item
Tan printed boards. Oblong quarto. Pictorial dust jacket. 177pp. Illustrated. Text in Spanish. Helen Levitt, one of the outstanding 20th century American woman photographers, was know for her street photographs. This book begins as a new reading of her signature work, A Way of Seeing, with commentary by Alan Trachtenberg, Jean-Francois Chevrier and Jorge Ribalta. In addition to showing Manhattan in black & white, two additional facets of the artist are seen: her color slides from recent decades and a documentary series produced during a trip to Mexico in 1941, both almost unknown. A very good copy with some light wear to the lower spine. The text is clean and fine. The jacket is very good with minor wear. Foreign postage extra on this heavy book. Seller Inventory # 11979
