About this Item
First edition. The second and final issue of a British mimeographed periodical that combined radical libertarian-communist /Situationist politics with surrealism and populist popular culture analysis. At the time Leftist intellectuals around the globe were expected to scorn popular culture (especially things like cartoons and rock n' roll), but not this British group, nor their antecedents in Chicago at Rebel Worker; they embraced popular culture and the avant garde tradition of Dada and surrealism simultaneously. This issue features articles by Situationists Attila Kotanyi and Raoul Vaneigem, as well as Chicago surrealist Franklin Rosemont, and a piece on the Dutch Provos. 36 pp. Loose sheets laid into red paper wraps, as issued. Very Good with some sunning to wraps, wear along fold. Rare. Seller Inventory # 140943058
