"Morrison is more a lyric poet than a prose narrator (though his stories are mostly full of real people and life), and Bold's talent for the short story is something of a revelation to me, who have known him previously only as a poet. The short story is one of the trickiest genres to do well, but having read one of Bold's I had to go on at a sitting and read them all.
