A beautifully Japanese book, bound in brown silk over boards with an onlay design motifs and gilt letters. All edges are also gilt. The book details the species of Chinese Porcelain called Gosu-Akaya or Aka Gosu by Japanese collectors. With 59 full page plates with English and Japanese descriptions. This rare book was presented to Mr and Mrs John D Rockefeller with the bookplate affixed. They were major collectors of Asian Art. The book comes in a paper slipcase which is worn. It has a spine label which states Ming Porcelain Mostly Red and Green Design Gosu Akaye Zukan Published in Japan. Seller Inventory # AudTir1736
