About this Item
By the editor of "The Golfer". 99 pages. Red cloth with illustration of a golfer playing on Musselburgh Links with the historic Mrs. Foreman's tavern in the background. This is the first book published on the subject of the interpretation of the rules of golf as adopted by the R & A of St. Andrews. Dalrymple enlisted the aid of Hutchinson, Purves and other leading golfers in preparing 150 sections discussing knotty aspects of the rules as prompted by years of rules queries to the Editor of "The Golfer" magazine. The sections vary widely in length but are conveniently grouped as well as indexed. In addition to the rules being printed in full, there are chapters on Curious Incidents, General Rules information, pages on Etiquette, Handicapping, Championship Courses, Championship Winners, etc. Slight spine fade else a beautiful clean copy without ownership name, marginalia, underlining, soiling, creases, tears, etc. Very scarce especially in this condition. Covers protected in mylar. Donovan & Murdoch #1050. Size: 16mo - over 5¾" - 6¾" tall. Seller Inventory # 201876
