About this Item
63 pages: illustrations; 17 cm. Text in Russian. One of 415 numbered copies. The cover is grayish with red and black lettering. The number "289" is handwritten in red ink on the front cover, and the price "80 fr." is written on the back. A purple bookstore stamp, "Maison du Livre Étranger, Dom Knigi, 9 Rue de l'Eperon, Paris-6," is stamped on the rear cover. The "UNION DES PATRIOTES SOVIETIQUES" stamp is present on multiple pages. The internal pages show typical signs of aging but remain well-preserved, with no significant damage or defects. Aleksandr Adol'fovich Shik (1887-1968) was a literature historian, art historian, and Pushkin scholar. He emigrated in the 1920s, first to Germany and later to France. In 1949, Shik was a member of the Pushkin Committee, which organized the celebrations for the 150th anniversary of the poet's birth. He authored several works, including Zhenatyi Pushkin (Married Pushkin), Odesskii Pushkin (Pushkin in Odessa), Gogol' v Nitse (Gogol' in Nice), among others. Seller Inventory # 56
