The First UK printing published by Williams and Norgate in 1936.The BOOK is in near FINE condition. Slight bumping at the spine tips and a minor production crease at the lower spine.Boards very clean.Minor offsetting to end papers otherwise clean pages and free from inscriptions.Blue top stain and gilt titling remain very bright.The WRAPPER is in complete and in near FINE condition.Light fading of colour to the folds.Minor creasing to lower spine tip.A little soiling to the rear cover.The wrapper looks very striking in the removable Brodart archival protector.The paper thin wrapper is very prone to wear.This is the nicest copy that we have handled in over ten years and very scarce as such.Dion Fortune born Violet Mary Firth (1890-1946),was a prominent British occultist,author,psychologist, teacher, artist, and mystic.Schooled in Western Esotericism,she was influential in the modern revival of the magical arts. She was also a prolific writer of the supernatural and the occult in both novels and non-fiction works.As a psychologist,she approached magic and hermetic concepts from the perspectives of Jung and Freud.
