Wagener and with a couple of corrections at planche 2 of explanation of plaches page at rear of text by the author as well. Good + cloth hardcover (7 by 10 1/2 approx.) with marbled boards shows rubbing to cover edges with some rub through, bumping to corners with bit of same, browning to endpapers, a couple of small edge tears at pages and toning and foxing to pages. 134 pages followed by table of contents and 6 illustrated pages, one in color and with a couple of corrections . Still a solid copy of this early work from the legendary physiologist that looks at muscle tissue generation and structure that appears to be the result of a university competition on general subjects in medicine. Inscribed.
