The authors' names are mostly hidden behind initials (the most prominent being one M.S.) and soubriquets. Original textured dark red cloth, gilt lettering, gilt & blind decoration. Primrose endpapers (small loss to corners of front free endpapers). Title-page & verso of last leaf tanned. Inner hinges somtime strengthened. Ink ownership name of one Lilian Beddoe, dated 1889, to front pastedown. Fraying to spine ends, a few ink marks to covers. A good, sound copy.
