First edition hardcover in pine green cloth covered boards with bright gilt titles. Tips and spine ends still sharp. Small ink initials under the front dj flap, two dates on fep, no other marks, soil or tears in the 339 pp text that has a further 17 page section of results of fifty years' Classic Races, winners and their stats. Full color, unclipped dj is a professional reproduction that has a 1/4" closed tear at the head of the rear gutter, spine a bit darkened on backstrip and a hint of light surface soil on the white background rear panel that shows a full size b/w photograph of Diamond Jubilee rearing near vertically in the paddock before the start of the St. Leger. This is a compilation work by 18 contributors on 20 detailed and informative chapters. 92 b/w photographs of the horses, owners and trainers of the hour provided by 3 different photographers and 6 different news publications of the day.
